Where your donations to this ChipIn will go
Cat food, 20 pound bags at Costco are $15 each. We need 5 bags per week. Kitten Chow, 7 pound bags at Food Maxx are $8 each. We need 1 bag per week. Can food varies; lately we have found can 12 ounce can food at Dollar Tree, 50 cents each. We use 10 cans per week. One cat, Aidan, eats Purina One for Seniors, which is $10 at Petco for 7 pounds. We need 2 bags per month. Cat litter is $8 at Food Maxx for 20 pounds of scoopable litter. We use 2 of these per week, for the litterboxes in the trailer. Any surplus funds after these items are purchased will transfer over into Mewface's fundraiser to get her cast Xrayed and removed, which MUST be done this week.
Defining "Sanctuary"
Operation Fuzzy Mice is setting up the IRS paperwork as an animal sanctuary (not as a rescue). It will be, to my knowledge, Bakersfield's first no-kill cat sanctuary. We have an EIN now, which is 27-4046598. This number will be logged into the IRS permanent records after December 10, 2010. Once this number is logged, we can begin filing for 501c3. If I am reading my information correctly, all donations made to us since our incorporation in July 2009, will be tax deductible once we have 501c3. There will be more information posted on our blog later.
